Thurs. // 03|28|24- Gabby the Artist πŸŽ¨

Hey everyone. πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

Another week of overtime in the books for now. Tomorrow, things go back to normal and then I can relax and enjoy the weekend.

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An Artist 🎨

I remember having so much with arts and crafts when I was little, and drawing was my escape from so many things in the world (besides writing). I enjoyed sitting in my room, listening to music or a storybook via my cassette player, and getting lost in my drawings.

Throughout school, I always carried a sketchbook and vowed to be an artist. Until I got to college and started dealing with the stresses of life, boys, and mental health. All of these challenges (and distractions) caused me to fall out of love with what brought me joy the most.

It’s been a struggle to get back into drawing again. Now, I decided to focus on the fun side of it rather than the technical side. I understand that there’s a lot to going into being an artist, but I find you can overwhelm yourself starting something new when you overthink things.

Hence, when the feeling comes over me, I break into a small doodle (or two) and that’s it for the day. Nothing more, nothing less until things feel more like a flow for me.

So, adding artist to my Jack of all trades if you will. 😊 But that’s all for now. I’ll see you all later on.

Until next time…

Tues. // 03|26|24- If It Ain’t Broke…

Hey everyone. πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

It’s a rainy start to the week, yesterday was a windy day. Trash cans kept being blown over so much, I thought a thunderstorm was happening right outside my window.

It eventually followed with rain overnight, and into today. But, rainy days call for slow, calming activities and movements.

How has technology changed your job?

Not Much…

While technology is going to change the world, in some instances, it’s holding us back than moving us forward. Literally.

For instance, you may have jobs, very under staffed, and need all the man power they can get. Using technology, they’re trying to hire more people to join the workforce.

However, with the increase in remote job opportunities, a lot of jobs and companies are deciding that it’s best to work with the staff they have and use the tools they have to get the work done on time.

For most companies, this is where a lot of overtime programs, or the news of benefit programs come in because they want the employees they have to feel appreciated at what their doing.

While an increase in pay is great, it doesn’t help if the conditions are still tight-lip, and individuals don’t feel comfortable with demands like coming to work on the office, or losing certain days off due to things being moved around.

I say while technology is has changed my job in some ways, it doesn’t change the fact that outside instances may occur (issues with company network, issues with Internet for those WFH- Spectrum has been iffy since last weekend’s power outage that I was unaware of).

Right now, technology is changing in some ways in my personal life. I’ll have to talk more about that later on. I’ll see you all soon.

Until next time…
